Security Consulting

Most mid market organizations carry real security exposure without anyone whose job it is to own it. Security consulting fills that gap with analysis and a program, not with equipment.

What security consulting means here

Security consulting is the structured examination of how an organization could be harmed through its facilities, its operations, and its people, followed by a practical plan to reduce that exposure. It covers physical security, procedural controls, and behavioral risk together, because incidents rarely respect the boundary between them.

Why it matters

Exposure is usually discovered in one of two ways: through an assessment, or through an incident. The second path carries litigation risk, insurance consequences, regulatory attention, and staff turnover that the first one does not.

Employers also carry a duty of care toward their staff. When something happens, the question asked afterward is what the organization knew and what it did about it. A documented assessment and a program built from it are the record of that answer.

What an engagement includes

Engagements are assembled from the areas below, scoped to the organization rather than sold as a package:

  • Threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments for facilities and operations
  • Security program review and development across physical, procedural, and behavioral controls
  • Workplace violence prevention planning and threat management
  • Policy and procedure development
  • Training and tabletop exercises built on scenarios specific to your organization
Common questions

What leadership asks first

How is a security assessment different from a security product pitch?

An assessment starts with your exposure and ends with recommendations that may or may not involve purchasing anything. Fenwick does not resell hardware, software, or guard services, so there is no product on the other side of the finding.

How long does an assessment take?

A single facility assessment typically runs five to ten business days. Most of that is analysis and writing, not walking the site: the visit itself typically takes a day or two, and the report is where the value is built. Larger and multi site engagements are scoped during the initial conversation.

Do you work with our existing vendors and staff?

Yes. Most engagements involve reviewing what is already in place, including contracted guard services, access control vendors, and internal policies. The objective is a program that works, not a rebuild for its own sake.

What does the final deliverable look like?

A written report with findings, the reasoning behind each one, and a prioritized set of recommendations with rough effort and sequencing. It is built to be read by leadership and acted on, not filed.
