The firm

A veteran owned firm built around one discipline.

Fenwick Advisory Group exists because the analytical discipline used in counterintelligence work transfers directly to the problems employers face, and very little of the private market is structured to apply it.

Why the firm exists

There is a right way to answer a serious security or integrity question: verify claims before reporting them, develop facts without alerting a subject, separate what was observed from what was concluded, and document all of it to withstand challenge. The founder spent a career doing exactly that in U.S. Army counterintelligence, where the standard was set by readers with the authority to act and the obligation to doubt.

Very little of the private market works this way. Large consultancies produce thorough documents at significant cost; local investigative firms are built around volume work and surveillance hours. Both models can staff a matter. Neither is built around the discipline it requires. Fenwick was founded to apply that discipline directly, in a small number of engagements, on one premise: a finding is only worth what it can withstand when someone challenges it.

What the firm stands for

  • The analysis is the product, not the hours behind it.
  • Discretion as a default, not an add on.
  • Documentation written to be challenged, and to hold.
  • Scoping honest enough to say when no engagement is warranted.

The founder

The founder served as a U.S. Army counterintelligence special agent. His casework ran from national security investigations to counterintelligence vulnerability assessments of entire installations, and the role included liaison with the FBI, NSA, DEA, and foreign government intelligence officials.

What matters for client work is what that training required day to day. Claims had to be verified before they were reported. Facts had to be developed without alerting a subject. Findings had to be written for readers who would act on them and who would question anything that was not supported. Sources had to be weighed rather than accepted.

Those habits are applied unchanged to internal fraud matters, threat assessments, due diligence, and security program reviews. The pedigree is not presented as biography. It is the methodology the firm sells.

Who the firm serves

Organizations, not individuals.

Every engagement is taken on behalf of an organization. Fenwick does not take consumer, domestic, or surveillance matters.

  • General counsel and outside attorneys

Counsel who need defensible investigative findings and litigation support that will not create problems in discovery.

  • HR directors and executives

Leaders facing workplace misconduct, internal fraud, threats, or sensitive personnel matters that cannot be handled informally.

  • Mid market owners and leadership

Organizations carrying real security and risk exposure with no in house security function to own it.

  • Independent healthcare practices

Medical, dental, and behavioral health practices that must complete a HIPAA security risk analysis without dedicated compliance staff.
